Dr. Chizner is a master educator and his books are worth their weight in gold!!

Dr. Chizner is a master educator and all of his books are excellent resources for fundamental knowledge building that can become obscured in today massive information overload era. I used this book for reviewing for my ABIM-Cardiovascular Disease Boards and passed with flying colors because of how easy this books makes in understanding physical exam findings which is the bedrock to cardiology and where it all starts with your patient. Undoubtedly this book keeps things simple, fun to read, and easy to understand. In the generation of electronic overload of resources and even medicine going towards a virtual care essentially rather than keeping the care at the bedside many things have changed. But reading this book, and the other books Dr. Chizner has written it really makes you appreciate that regardless of the amount of information that can be obtained via echos, CT scans, EKG, hand held devices...there is no other substitute for the physical examination and at the end of the day if you don’t have a decent understanding of this nothing else matters. Technology may evolve and come and go, but physical exam findings never change and patients almost always present the same way. As Dr. Chizner used to tell me when I was one of his fellows and words I live by, “Sometimes simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.” Cardiac Physical Exam Made Ridiculously simple is a amazing book that really is a great resource for trainees at all levels as well as attendings.

Essential book for everyone in medical school!

Essential book for everyone in medical school! Being a clinician for many years I can not emphasize enough the importance of this book. It has a high yield , easy to understand fundamental knowledge on practical , hands-on skills of cardiovascular physical examination that is essential not only for a cardiologist but for anyone who practices medicine . The book has a step by step systematic approach on explaining auscultatory findings of normal heart sounds and heart sounds associated with the main cardiovascular disease states encountered in everyday clinical practice based on physiology and hemodynamics.
The book should be the core study material in any medical school before starting clinicals and is definitely helpful for PAs , NPs and nursing students . It's precise and easy to read format makes it an excellent resource on the go when you encounter a patient with an interesting auscultatory finding.
